How do I kick-start my scooter?

Make sure the key is in the ignition, and turned to “on”. Make sure the emergency cut-off switch (the red switch next you your right thumb) is “on”, which usually means switched to the position closest to your thumb. Make sure your scooter is on its center stand. Stand next to the scooter on the right side, using your left hand to grip the rear brake. You will probably want to hold the rear of the seat with your right hand to help steady yourself. Use the toe of your right foot to flip down the kick starter so that it’s sticking out from the scooter, and then push it down quickly with your foot. You should hear the engine cough. Do this a few more times and the engine should start. Once it has started, flip the kick starter back up so that it no longer sticks out, mount your scooter, and ride off the center stand!
