Buddy 50 & 125
Buddy is being billed as “America’s Favorite Scooter” and I think I can understand why. It’s a small bodied scooter, constructed so that people between 5′ and 6′2″ can ride comfortably. See my review in the blog: First Impressions – Buddy 125.
Buddy comes in three sizes - 50cc, 125cc, and 150cc (International). The Internationals are discussed separately.
The Buddy 50 has a 50cc 2-stroke engine that is restricted to a top speed of 30 mph (so that you don’t need a motorcycle license to operate it). The Buddy 125 has a 125cc 4-stroke engine and is capable of over 60 mph. Otherwise the two models are virtually identical.
